|
Q |
How many Treatments am I
likely to need? |
|
A |
This
will depend upon your individual circumstances and can be discussed in
detail at your first treatment session. Many people have treatments to aid
them with a specific health problem. Weekly treatments reviewed after a
few weeks might be of benefit in these circumstances, whereas others
simply enjoy the deeply relaxing experience and book a regular monthly
“maintenance” session.
|
|
Q |
Are there any
circumstances in which reflexology would not be advisable? |
|
A |
Reflexology is a very safe form of
treatment but it may not be suitable for some people suffering with deep
vein thrombosis, phlebitis or conditions associated with excessive blood
clotting.
The first three months of pregnancy is
a time for caution, particularly if the expectant mother has a history of
unstable pregnancies, since reflexology promotes hormone function. Later
in pregnancy reflexology can be extremely beneficial. |
|
Q |
Is there an age limit to
reflexology treatment? |
| |
Age is not a barrier to
receiving reflexology treatment, whether it be very young or old. The aim
is to work towards achieving balance, whether this is to calm the
hyperactive child or to revitalise the more weary, then the principle
remains the same. It's a subtle , gentle treatment that suited to almost
all and - No you don't have to have faith or 'believe' in it for it to
help. We love treating sceptics, as they give the most referrals. |
|
Q |
Can reflexology have an
effect if I am taking any medication I am taking? |
|
A |
Reflexology works by helping the body function at an optimal level. There
are some circumstances where this may mean that you don’t need as high a
dose of medication as you would do when not attending for reflexology.
However any change in dosage or frequency of medication must always be
discussed with your doctor prior to altering medication. Contrary to
popular belief, reflexology cannot “flush the system” of medication. |
|
Q |
Do I need to be referred by
my GP? |
|
A |
The short answer is no.
We will take our own medical case
history before we treat and is we feel for any reason that you should not
have treatment without consulting your GP, then we will say so. Also, we
can write a letter to your doctor explaining our concerns. We would not do
this without your consent. |
|
Q |
Will I need to undress? |
|
A |
No. All we need to get at is
your feet.
Even if you are prone to
ticklish feet, then most find that a firm therapeutic treatment does not
tickle. |
